On September 10th and 11th 2016, car enthusiasts are invited to the 2nd edition of the Super Auto Show at the Circuit ICAR in Mirabel. Presented for a first time last year by The Car Guide to highlight the 50th edition of the book, the event was so successful that the organizer decided to bring it back again this year with two days of programming. The Branchez-Vous team is proud to partner up with The Car Guide by hosting the Electric Zone.
Thus, in addition to seeing and hearing traditional muscle cars as well as luxury exotics, visitors will also be able to familiarize themselves with the performances of electric vehicles. Free road tests, in the company of experienced EV drivers, will be offered. Branchez-Vous volunteers will answer motorists’ questions on range, winter performance, fuel and maintenance savings and much more.
Several models will be presented: there will be 100% electric cars like the Nissan LEAF and the Chevrolet Bolt EV, as well as plug-in hybrids like the Chevrolet Volt and the Ford C-Max Energi. Of course, many people will also want to see and try the Tesla Model S and Model X!
Branchez-Vous – an initiative of the Innovative Vehicle Institute – presented 4 events last spring in Montreal, Gatineau, Lévis and Drummondville. Over 3,700 test drives were carried out, covering nearly 21,000 km! The Super Auto Show is a bonus for the 2016 programming and organizers hope to add hundreds of road tests to the year’s results! Branchez-Vous supports transport electrification in Quebec by organizing familiarization activities that allow drivers to assess and compare the models offered while in the company of EV experts.
Another attraction of the Electric Zone at the Super Auto Show will be the presence of the Pilot Academy – going green – filming crew. The famous RDS hit series returns and will challenge Quebec celebrities on a race track dotted with obstacles. But beware, no more gas, no more oil, and only plug-in electric cars. The show will air on RDS in spring 2017 and will feature host and driver Annie-Soleil Proteau, as well as doctor in sports psychology Sylvain Guimond. Several sequences of the show will be shot during the weekend and the public is invited to come and watch, in silence…
